The Beginning...

We have been here for a full 24 hours!  We are already exhausted!  Between the end of school Friday, a sleepover with 6 eight year old boys (which should be illegal, by the way), a garage sale, and a trip to Six Flags Fiesta Texas, it's a blur. 
Our flight left Austin early Monday morning and we got to Honolulu by lunch time.  Our total travel time yesterday was about 12 hours.  Oddly enough the only time we saw the beach yesterday was during our landing.  

We managed to get all our luggage into the car and find our new apartment with ease.  We technically live in the city of Waikiki, but are nicely removed from the huge strip of hotels, restaurants, and trendy boutiques.  We, I unpacked all of our belongings while Jaden complained how small our hotel was!  I didn't even have the heart to tell him it wasn't a hotel...he was in culture shock.  I did, however, inform him that he could gladly return to Texas to our "big" house, but he'd have to go to summer school and get a weekend job.  Obviously, that squashed his entitled attitude. 

We went out for dinner and then ran to the grocery store for a few essential items.  I think we were all asleep by 8 pm!  

By the way, saw this in the grocery store last night...definitely wouldn't be found in Texas.
