Today was our first real day in paradise. The sun rises awfully early here, plus my body is still on Texas time, which doesn't leave room for a whole lot of sleeping in. It took Jaden and I ten minutes to walk to the beach. It only took him 30 seconds to do this...
He took a surf lesson with the same instructor as last year. After an hour, his teacher said he was fine going out on his own. Now all we have to do is get him a surfboard, but those sure are expensive!
After his lesson, we did all the non-touristy things. We found a grocery store, Walmart, and even had to find an urgent care (Jaden got pink eye...gross). Once all our chores were done, we went back to the beach so I could work on my tan and Jaden could boogie board. I can already tell that life in Hawaii has its challenges though. I had to alternate my view between these two, which made my neck tired. #hawaiiproblems
Clearly we had a very full day and the sun was setting, so we decided to pack it up. On our walk home, I saw the true meaning of "beach volleyball". Good thing I remembered to pack my spandex!
Bedtime for us has been very, very early. By the time 8:30 pm rolls around, Jaden and I are already laying down. As I was turning off the light, we heard really loud pops, rocket sounding noises, so we looked out our "lanai" (Hawaiian word for balcony) and saw this.
Thanks Hawaii, we're glad to be here too!! Aloha! Love and miss you all!
What a welcome - fireworks and all. From what I've read and seen you could always just start writing. I'm sure the Hawaii tourism bureau would be glad to have you. Looks so beautiful.
