First Hike, Third Beach

Bluefish (Jaden's surfing nickname) and I have been busy exploring!  We went on our first hike today to Makapu'u Lighthouse.  It's about a 3 mile hike round trip and it only took us about an hour to complete.  It is straight uphill, but we stopped for photos whenever bluefish started complaining that his gills were dry.  What a wimp!  We got some great photos though.


After our hike, we stumbled on our first "local" hangout.  The eastern side of the island is very curvy, which creates hidden coves that people can swim in.  Jaden, obviously, was very cautious and hesitant to participate.  Sike!

We wrapped up the day boogie boarding at Kailua beach.  Jaden even met an 8 year old boy that lives by us.  Sidebar...if you're noticing that Jaden is looking a little lighter in the hair department, it's not an optical illusion.  Apparently, there was a slight language barrier between the barber and I.  It will always grow back, right?! 

Tomorrow is Aloha Friday.  For Hawaiians, it is the day you say aloha (goodbye) to the work week and aloha (hello) to time spent with your family, preferably at the beach.  Aloha Friday is an actual song and it even has its own music video!
